Natural Ways to soothe your ADHD Child

Having kids in home will make you feel high about your family. Things that are before child is always different from after the arrival of a little one in the family. It may be your routine, your work or your mentality. All the kids are special in some way or other. There are various problems all the parents encounter whenever they rise the children, one among the common issues parents are dealing is ADHD.

Attention deficit hyperactivity syndrome (ADHD) are neurological and behavior-related conditions that cause difficulty in concentrating, impulsiveness and excessive energy. Children with ADHD not only have the problem of concentrating but also they cannot sit still for some time.

ADHD often has an onset age of 7, but this disorder can continue through teen years and well into adulthood. It’s estimated that 9% of the world’s child are affected by ADHD. The main root causes of ADHD are,

  • Studies have shown that ADHD children have genetic link,
  • In addition to that, the environmental causes and dietary changes also impacts them,

Keep a Relax time

Keep a time in your child’s routine to stay calm and relaxed. Join him daily at that time. You both lie on the bed, in corpse pose with a pillow to support your head. Just lie calmly for some time. Then ask your child to feel his body from head to toe.

A good massage

To begin, wet your hands and pour a teaspoon of organic unrefined oil in your palm. (Olive, almond, and sesame oils are especially grounding.) Then rub your hands together and massage the mixture into your child’s skin. Let the oil soak in for a few minutes, then towel off any remaining residue. Try to do this at least once a week. If you don’t have time to give your child a head-to-toe treatment, just massage his feet (covering them with socks to protect the sheets). If your child has trouble falling asleep, this bedtime activity will help.

Create a routine

Children with ADHD are drawn to new activities, adventure, and change. Yet they’re balanced by the opposite: activities that are calming, relaxing, and nurturing. Your son needs regularity and structure to counter his natural tendency toward chaos: a regular time to do his homework, exercise, relax, eat, go to bed, and wake up to begin a new day.

Diet & nutrition

Despite multiple studies in the last 20 years suggesting that diet and food additives can exacerbate hyperactivity, the current medical stance is that there is no causal link between food and ADHD. So be careful of your child’s diet. Strictly avoid junk foods for them, try to give natural fruits and veggies.

Your Love & attention

Remember, the purpose of these alternative treatments is to make your child feel loved, grounded, and nourished. Tell him that his new routine is an experiment to improve his mental focus–and let him play a role in how the changes are implemented. That means that you might compromise on a few things, but it also means more cooperation. Show the care and love you have in him to get him out of this condition.
