Cellulite is one of the worst enemies of the female population (although some men are having the same problem as well). Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits (with a quite similar texture to orange peel), which is mainly located on the upper part of the thighs, buttocks and abdomen. To eliminate cellulite, you need to apply specific measures for its removal. It is both functional and an aesthetic problem, and unfortunately, there is no quick and permanent solution. The bad news – it takes a lot of patience, effort and work for its removal. The good news: it’s not impossible.

What are the causes of cellulite?

Cellulite is formed in the connective tissue. Reduced blood flow in the previously mentioned areas leads to insufficient removal of harmful substances and water retention, which results in cellulite formation

The causes of cellulite are not well understood, but there are several theories that have been put forth as explanations. Among these are:

– Hormones.

– Genetics and lifestyle (mostly)

– Poor eating habits (fast and processed foods, fatty foods)

– Insufficient hydration (fluids)

– Sitting too long

– Lack of physical activity

-Clothing – underwear with tight elastic across the buttocks (limiting blood flow) may contribute to the formation of cellulite.

How to deal with cellulite?

There are several types of cellulite, and the treatment is practically the same for all types:

Proper nutrition – high quality, balanced diet that contains no toxins and harmful substances that can be trapped in the body (avoid processed and fast food at all costs)

Increased water intake – increased water intake promotes waste material elimination from the body

Physical activity – improves metabolism, stimulates circulation, digestion and excretion. For women it’s essential to pay attention on increasing lean muscle mass (through gym training), which may have the best and most visible results in the battle against cellulite

Relaxation – It’s scientifically proven that stress is one of the causes of cellulite formation. Physical activity is certainly one of the most effective ways to fight stress, so you will have a double benefit from it!

Massage – it directly stimulates circulation. Anti cellulite creams, oils and gels can be used. However, the massage itself without proper nutrition and adequate training will not lead to the desired result!

Anti-cellulite products – the market is flooded with these products. Without the above listed treatments, anti-cellulite products are quite useless. The use of anti-cellulite products makes sense only when combined with proper nutrition and physical activity.
